Site Implementation

A project does not end with application development and design. A site must be realised, its interface produced. Screens must be rendered as markup code and Web-optimised images. A site must also be installed and tested in place. Web interface realisation and Website deployment are an essential part of our daily work.

We build robust, lightweight Websites according to our own or our clients' design. We test our sites across platforms and browsers and work to code standards.

When you boil it all down, we build Websites. We do it fast, we do it efficiently, and we do it to specification.

Accessibility

Web browsers tend to give bad Websites the benefit of the doubt, rendering poor code well. With more devices such as mobile phones, PDAs and tools for the partially-sighted accessing the Web, bad code is no longer acceptable. There is a general acceptance that Websites should be designed and implemented according to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) standards. BGZ creates compliant Websites, emphasising accessibility without sacrificing visual appeal.

The Process

Most interface development depends upon the production of a few good templates. Template development is generally the first step in a design implementation. Choices made at this stage can have a profound effect upon the future of a site. Templates are built with reference to such issues as maintenance, extensibility and browser compatibility.

The realisation of an interface can mean the creation of a static Website, or the development of an interface for a Web application (often called 'skinning'). In either case, our technical expertise can give us the edge. We often build production tools to automate much of the interface development process.

Once we have built a site's interface we deploy it. Putting it in place on a server and marrying it up with any back-end systems such as a Web application or with standalone tools like search, newsletter signups, feedback forms or forums. We can, of course, source or develop these for you, should you need it.

Finally, we move into an intensive quality assurance phase in which links are checked, copy proofed and conformity to style guidelines confirmed throughout.
